World of Warcraft Druid Forms
A Druid is one of the classes available to Taurens (Horde) and Night Elves (Alliance) in World of Warcraft. They are a indeed fun class to play because they are a hybrid class, meaning they can fill any of the three roles (tank, heals, or damage) in the game. They can specialize in one area and do that very well, but they are also a jack of all trades. With the new ability to have two talent trees (dual specialization) they can fill two roles in one group and do those two roles very well.
There are some things to think about though before you go off all half cocked! So keep on reading! You have to carry a different set of gear for each specialization. This takes up room in your bags and is not all the time the idea situation. You cannot make the changes in the middle of a battle, so you'll have to be mental ahead and do any changes before a battle starts. If you're already in a group and the members haven't changed, you're likely to be doing one thing and not need to turn either. For instance, you can't turn from a healer to a tank in the middle of a battle and hope to save your group from a bad guy who is about to wipe you. On the other hand you Can resurrect your tank while in combat (the only class that can do this) every thirty minutes so you could still be the one to save your group from disaster! It's all about knowing how to play your class, in this case a kind of tough class to master!
Defender Hybrid Case
So let's say you're concerned more in giving all around group support, for this you don't need to specialize you can field out and do all kinds of different things. The druid's ability to shift into different shapes helps immensely with this and each form gives you different benefits for each role the Druid can fill. Keep in mind, you're not going to be best at any one role, but you'll be very good at each of them.
The bear form is a tank role; it gives you lots of extra health and helps you to keep the monsters beating on you instead of your less medicinal buddies. The moonkin form allows you to do a lot more damage than you would in your general Night Elf or Tauren form. The tree form is intended for medical and greatly increases your status points for help with healing. Don't forget, you also get the cat form for fast travel on the ground, sea lion form for travelling underwater, and ultimately the flight forms which of procedure are for flying! The forms can be changed at any time (for a percentage of mana) which lets the Druid have many different options for how to fight or move around the world.
Druids are very inviting to play because of the many different things they can do, but this also makes them very versatile. Your play style as a druid will be different from any other class due to this. The real art to playing a druid is learning how to use the shape shift ability to your many advantage in every situation, and having the gear to reflect your personal style helps as well! Keep in mind, there are loads of different ways to play the Druid class, and my advice is to find the 'experts' and get as much info as possible as you level up so you can be all you can be!
